Your Leige:

I write to you upon my initial arrival at Dielon. I was, unfortunately, delayed in my journey by rather bad weather. While my inter-planetary trip from Gascon arrived rather promptly, the terrestrial wether at St. Oghma delayed the departure of my flight to Treviers. The trip from Treviers to Dielon was delayed in departure and in arrival by both inclement weather and bad roads. I have arrived, just a few moments ago, at about eleven in the evening. I have, consequently, not been able to meet any of the five retainers who are to help me administer your settlement. I have met one of the gendarmes who are assigned to help me keep order; he was napping at the station when I arrived. The man has not filled me with confidence. I hope to be more inspired by the remaining staff tomorrow morning when we meet formally.

As to the state of your holdings I can only provide the most preliminary of updates. I have begun to review the previous Seneschal's records. His methods seem to have been less than rigorous, and had my lord known of the state of his administrative habits I am certain you would have removed him from his post long before his rather unexpected disappearance. However, despite the rather haphazard nature of his record keeping I believe the resources and production here seem, at least upon initial review, to be essentially the same as what we estimated on Gascon. While several of the more recent entries seem to have been encrypted improperly, those I have been able to access catalogue a quantity of assets and efficiency of production approximately in line with our estimates. By light of day I hope to be able to determine whether those resources have been limited by poor administration, as we expected, or whether the productivity of this settlement is limited by it's isolation, and by the limited production facilities to which we have access.

I remain, as ever, your loyal servant:
