Dakka my Dakka,
I am completely new to 40k and have compiled a pretty good size GK army (~3000 pts). I normally play at showcase comics in Bryn Mawr PA but the people who play there are more seasoned than I and thus I am having trouble learning all the rules. SO... I am looking for a bunch beginners games in the Philadelphia Area. Any ideas Dakka?
P.s. I know GK are not a good starter army but I have their rules down, I am having trouble with combat and no amount of youtube tutorials seems to help...

Hiyas,
My suggestion is to go in and watch some games. Ask the people playing if they are ok with you asking questions. That way, you can make some friends there and have some people to try out the new 6E rules. I suggest waiting to play games until the new edition, you will just get confused (trust me!).
Good luck, have fun and be persistant!

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness. ADB |

Thanks for all the tips. I will definitely be persistent. I was thinking that I could learn the cored rules from fifth than relearn everything with everyone else from 6th. I definitely will start watching some games. Thats a great idea that I have not thought about.. Where is Stomping grounds? the mighty google did not find it. I love the Showcase comics and their staff is great, its just really far and I hate showing up there like a idiot.

I thought the same thing. I just ended up learning all the 4th Ed rules, and when 5th came out shortly after I was just more confused. I still confuse 4th and 5th edition rules

You might want to check out Redcap's Corner, 35th & Lancaster Ave on Drexel University's campus in Philly. They have a pretty active 40K and Fantasy league, and a nice mix of new 40K'ers and grizzled vets. Plus the store crew play too. 40K usually happens Thursdays and Saturdays.
If you wanted t set something up, drop me a line. I'll play in anytime.
