I'm thinking of doing a diorama of Dystopian wars and I'm looking for a high quality ocean mat/board to be the base. I've looked on google and such but am having trouble fining anything but plain blue mats. The Dreadfleet mat is decent quality but is very thin so I'm looking for other options.

Any thoughts?

What exactly are you looking for? Ocean gaming mats are great, but suffer from a uniformity of colour, whereas actual water will change colour. For example, the bow wave of a boat or its wake will be churned up and frothy, while the waters surrounding an island will be shallow, and thus lighter in colour.

For any kind of diorama, you really want to create your own ocean surface with epoxy resin, or silicone, or some other product.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

Well what I am doing is for the wall in my room. We are gonna magnetize a small section of wall and want to put up ships on the wall In formation. I realize I could just Paint the wall Ocean colored but wanted a vinyl ocean mat to tack up so we could change things around. It doesn't need to be extremely detailed but want something that isn't plain blue. Just some simple ripples and waves wOuld be fine. The dread fleet map is along the lines of what I want but was just wondering if there are more options

Diorama may not have been the best choice of wOrd

You could also get a large picture frame, and print out or paint a water scape big enough to fit under the glass. The glassy surface would allow you to simulate water decently, and shouldn't be too much of a barrier to magnetization assuming rare earth magnets are used.

That sounds like a great idea. I'll try that thanks
