For those of you who don't know, Apocalypticon is one gigantic apocalypse game--last year they brought over 250,000 points on the tables and they're trying to get around a half million points this year. Sadly I was deployed in Afghanistan at that time, or I'd have been there as well. Thankfully I'm just within dwell time, so I'll be stateside for this year's event. Registration is $50 CAD, with door prizes and food. It's presented by the Miniwargaming guys out of Hamilton, Ontario.

Anyone else attending? I just signed up with a little less than 9000 points of Templar.

Id love to go. But, alas I won't be able to make it there. Its pretty damn awesome. I'll try my damndist to make it for next years though. It just seems so damn cool.

If you could get back, I could drive you up there. I mean, I live up there for christ's sake haha.

From the videos I've seen. The turn out has been pretty good the past couple years they've done it.

I know they sell out, more interested in what the experience has been like for others.

I really wanted to go last year but when I heard of it, they had already sold out! :(

I can easily pack up and bring a ton of stuff to apocalypse but I would be more worried about getting stuck across from some tween or young kid for two days.

I can see your concern now. On that one its just as much a wild card as when you go to play the game anywhere. A way to get around that one would be just make damn sure you beat the punk early in the match. Then again that all comes down to dice rolls.

I was reading the forum and heard about some kid bringing in cardboard box gargant to. I really want to go and it is only 45minutes away but I am almost scared given the $50 price tag, it always sells out though so I imagine it must be fun.

The $50 price tag includes a normally $20 t-shirt, so it isn't so bad. I'll be there for sure. Matt with MWG also addressed that he doesn't want to see anything like the cardboard gargant this year.

I'm sure I'll end up grabbing a ticket when they go low. Not too many other venues to bring my marines out to in force!

Man, if I wasn't going to GenCon, I'd start my Ordinatus World Tour with this.
