In this (first-time ) blog, I'll be creating the Veteran Company for my Blood Angels using the Space Wolves codex. Obviously, that statement will sound mad to you all, so I had better explain myself. Basically, I'm using Grimnar to represent my 1st Company captain, with wolf guard to be played as veterans, and Long Fangs as Veteran Devestators (what with the Fire Control Special Rule ) There is no particular plan to this army, other than to make models that I like and an army that can function on the field of battle, so don't be surprised to see models that aren't the world's best choice for the competitive scene. Explaining the Counter Attack and Acute Senses is also a simple matter; company tactics used by my Captain. (btw, sorry about the (undoubtedly) bad photography)

So, to start off the blog, I have some pictures of the starting block, i.e. a TONNE of spare marines and parts to be fashioned into veterans and what-not -

Death Company - Bought for the project for the Spare Parts they provide

Spare Sprues - courtesy of The Crusader

Wargs - soon to be Tanrix (SoS homeworld) Bloodhounds aka, Fenrisian Wolves (The Crusader)

LOTS of spare marines - will be going through surgery soon to be given appropriate weapons (The Crusader)

Vanguard Vets (The Crusader)

Techmarine and Servitors (The Crusader)

SPARE PARTS! shoulder guards, weapons, body parts etc. XD (The Crusader)

LOTS of Terminators (The Crusader)

The Whole Lot

The First Company Project

I would very much appreciate any feedback - this blog is to help spur me on. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll think much of the painting, but feel free to offer C&C
Thanks in Advance!

Intriguing.

I presume you'll be stripping the paint from the existing models?

If so what will you be using? Dettol is a good choice that is available in the UK.

What will be the first unit you'll be putting together? In fact, you may as well post the list your planning on building!

Paint stripping would be very good idea actually... I've never tried it before though... :( Do you have any tips at all on the subject? Or a tutorial for that matter?

First unit I will be doing will almost certainly be the first lot of wolf guard. I expect I'll choose full TDA units alongside full PA units, so PA units can go in transports.
I'm at School atm, so I don't have access to my codex, but I will be doing one at home, so i know what options I actually have access to.

As an unrelated point, would you be ok playing against this army? Seeing as I'm using another codex for a Fluff based army.

I don't have a tutorial handy, but if you search the forums you can probably find one.

There's nothing to it to be honest, just get some of this stuff

and put in it a container of some kind with the minis, leave for...oh I don't know, a couple of days perhaps? When I last stripped some models I think I left them for a week or so, but that was more because I was in no rush. Anyway...once they've soaked for a bit, take an old tooth brush and scrup them down.

Easy. You should be able to scrub them down to the grey plastic. Just so you know it did corrode plastic glue when I did it..

Alternatively Fairy Power Spray is meant to be really good for stripping models, but I don't have any first hand experience using the stuff.

In regard for the playing against this list I wouldn't have a problem with it, after all it's your army. I don't know how it would go down on the tournament scene though, especially for GW events. For friendly pick-up games I think most gamers would be fine with it.

Cool Thanks for that. Was there any corrorsion on the actual plastic?

And I haven't been planning on taking this to Competitive - it's just for friendlies.

The plastic was fine, arms did fall off some of the minis though...nothing that couldn't be fixed though.

That's fine - I need to rearm them as it is.
Thanks for your help, btw.
