Most people know The Andy Griffith Show or Matlock, which I wasn't a big fan of personally, but I always liked No Time For Sergeants (1958 dir. LeRoy) and A Face In the Crowd (1957 dir. Kazan), which was fairly brilliant.

I was actually deeply saddened when I saw this news earlier, I've been a huge fan of The Andy Griffith Show ever since I was a boy and have enjoyed most of his other work very much as well.

The scene with him filling out his card: Last name first, first name, middle name last always made me laugh.

I've only seen a few episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, but the ones I did see were real funny.

I saw A Face in the Crowd not long ago. Really good. Well worth checking out, expecially for folks who only know him from his lighter and comedic work.
