Looks cool.

The Riot Grrls are pretty much the statline and cost range I was expecting. Wouldn't have called the skills and equipment though. In any case, I don't doubt that they will fill the role of an assault unit admirably.

The Sheskiin profile is no great surprise, given we knew she was going to be imitating Achilles - and with the fairly expectable (and fortunate) fact that like with a normal Morpho-Scan the equipment and skills haven't carried across. Still, I would have expected her to had one or two levels of Martial Arts of her own accord through.
So not quite another Achilles, but still a tough cookie with the Protheion skill.

The scariest one is that Heavy RL though! Burst 2, Circular Template and Fire ammo? It's perhaps a little less lethal than the Missile Launcher, but with two chances to hit (or the possibility to engage two targets at once) it's got a serious advantage there. Not something I'd want to be on the receiving end of.

I'm scared of the Heavy RL in a linked team...burst 3!

The Heavy RL profile has been adjusted. The "Guided" addition was an error existing only in the English version. Works for me - it did seem somewhat out of place.

I, too, am glad this part is gone.

Saves me the trouble of finding Forward Observers to field =P

That IS a relief. With the fire ammo it almost seems like an Incendiary weapon.

It IS an incendiary weapon - that's what fire ammo is for.

It's just NOT a fire-and-forget-lob-it-from-safety-incendiary weapon.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

My buddy is a former EOD (Bomb Disposal) in US army. He thinks the template should have been the large tear drop. Wide end hitting the target and the tail end going away from the one the fired it. Unless it's going to come from directly above, it's going to splash in that direction.

Agreed, but it might be for game balance.
Lots of things are changed to make sure things are balanced.
Shotgun in video games usually have incredibly poor range. No way you can't hit something 5m away with one in real life.
Grenades in games usually have a small definite area of effect. I've heard that real life grenades have a 50m kill radius due to shrapnels =P

Edit : Went online to confirm my source. So it's not quite exactly what I've been told =P
Steel fragments (not to be confused with shrapnel) are provided by the grenade body and produce an injury radius of 15 meters (~45 ft), with a fatality radius of 5 meters (~15 ft), though some fragments can disperse as far out as 250 meters.

But I'd love to see weapons working the way you proposed it =)
Maybe in the next book ?

Depends on the grenade. Something like the Mills bomb did occasionally kill at that kind of distance.

However, most people struggled to throw it even half that. It had to be used from behind cover unless you wanted to end up as one of its kill statistic.

Yeah, I read grenades used to have a longer kill range
This is not really convenient if you can't throw it as far =P
