Just wanted to see if anyone else on dakka has heard of this event and is planning on going?

http://whatc.org/

I'm playing on a team from GA/SC and am kinda excited about how legit and huge this event is turning out to be. I guess my question is why the ETC and Australian/NZ equivalents are such big deals and widely talked about but only recently have we gotten our yankee butts into gear by making the American championship a reality?

Definitely pumped for the event though.

It looks awesome and there's a thread in the Tournaments forum (where I'm going to move this one), though it hasn't been updated recently. Probably in part because it filled up a while ago.

I wish I was going; I got invited to join a team again this year, but couldn't make the timing/travel work either time. Hopefully next year.

Any chance you'll be making the NOVA Open this year?
