New to the game, few friends play and seems were getting everyone set up with a 750 point force and escalating slowly as a group. Specifically im looking at the Empire of the Rising Sun. While i wouldnt be against the starter set as is, iv read around and apparently the medium class ship in it is a bit of a turkey and the tanuki is generally better? looking through his book i came up with this

2 Kitsune Escorts
3 Tanuki Gunships
4 Uetsu Frigates
Tenkai Sky fortress
4 squads of 4 wings

Does this work as a force? can something similar be cheaply and effectively made from the starter? (going for effectiveness vs overall cost)

Just checked amazon, seems i can get most of this for a good price, so as an all comers force does it need tweeking anyhow? by the by my group will have 1 force of each nation between us once the russains hit the shores except Antarctica.
