Hey guys, always wondered why twin linked gave you rerolls. I personally feel it would be so much cooler to have 2 shots instead as that basically covers the reroll and a chance to get two shots off. Or am i just being silly?

Cheers!

One shot is fired as a tracer.

It used to be double shots. Current meta wouldn't support it balance-wise. Look at Vendettas.

If it gave you two shots than the special rule would have no purpose, you could just count it as two of the same gun.

Many models may only fire 1 weapon. Especially in 2e. Twinlinked back then just let you fire double.

I always thought it should have been two shots with one to-hit roll.

That sounds like a fun rule to add in, like "Double Tap" or something

6+ = 6/36 | Reroll 1s = 7/36 | Reroll Misses = 11/36 ||||||| 5+ = 12/36 | Reroll 1s 14/36 | Reroll Misses = 20/36 ||||||| 4+ = 18/36 | Reroll 1s 21/36 | Reroll Misses = 27/36
3+ = 24/36 | Reroll 1s 28/36 | Reroll Misses = 32/36 ||||||| 2+ = 30/36 | Reroll 1s 35/36 ||||||| Highest of 2d6 = 4.47

Considering that you're firing double the shots, adding the Shred rule in with twin-linked would aptly portray how much damage two weapon firing together can do.

I could roll with that. Would potentially make some weapons like broadsides and vendettas OP, but it is a more risk, more reward thing, you have a 50% higher chance of hitting and double the firepower.

Double the number of shots would really be the best solution, as you are firing double the shots. Alas, that would break the game and Tau would be insane with their Broadsides and Crisis suits.
