Does jet-pack Infantry in 6th have any benefit for having relentless. It hasn't made any point for jet pack to have relentless for Tau Suits. They have no heavy weapons and one rapid fire weapon. The suits by codex were always allowed to fire at max under the suits abilities described on pg27 under the XV8 Crisis battle suit entry. So my only benefit I am aware is the ability to assault a unit, which is not really beneficial to the Tau army.

There is more Jet pack infantry in 40K than JUST tau battlesuits I think... It probably suits other jump infantry more than others.

from what you say it does seem a little bit pointless, (unless you are mad enough to use your Tau to assault) but is it possible that this is to link in with a 6th ed codex?

The only ones I know of are Tau Battle suits and Tau Drones unless 6th edition errata changed anything. The only other possibles is Forge World Eldar Corsairs and Specters, but to elaborate i guess my question is does Tau benefit from anything else. In 5th edition, before the eldar models from forgeworld that have just recently released in the last year or so, the Tau were the only users and had no heavy options or reasoning for the USR to be given to jet pack.

Nope. Relentless now does very little for Crisis Suits - though I still use them to assault occasionally. 3 S5 attacks on the charge is useful in all sorts of situations.
