I'm trying to come up with a schools league list for next year and seeing there are always a lot of armies with dragons.So I thought I'd go with an anti dragon army.

I think you can only take i ballista per a warband but I'm not sure.The idea is basically to make the dragon flee by causing wounds with the strenght 9 ballista's. No doubt the dragon will be the army leader so I will get Victory points for that, then I just need to protect Balin. I'm not really sure about warband 2 particularly the kings champion.

Maybe you should get more Dwarves in the second warband instead of Iron and Khazad guard? Otherwise kill a few dwarves and BAM! force is broken. For you to have a cheaper hero in the 2nd warband, wouldn't it be better to have a Dwarf Captain instead of Herald? Also thinking you should have a Banner Bearer in the Army.

The second warband is full due to the ballista crew and as you buy the kings champion and 2 heralds together, the heralds are basically khazad guard with banners. If I replace the kings champion with a captain I will have just enough points to get a sheildbearer and if I replaced the elites with warriors with sheilds I could get an exrta 4 so 2 in a warband with a sheild bearer and 2 to replace the heralds, it doesn't really seem worth it.

also one thing to consider is that only 1/3 of your army can be bows.... your at 1 above half

There are 24 models and 8 with bows, the kings champion comes with 2 heralds, both ballistas come with 2 crew.

In the rulebook it states that the crew don't count towards the warband rule. A siege weapon and it's crew count as only one model.
Also, the heroes don't count towards your bow limit, so right now you are at 8 bows and 10 non-bows.
I like Kazad guard, however Iron guard die too easily as they are the enemies priority and they only have 1 wound. Never underestimate the power of regular dwarf warriors, having a high defense, especially with a shield you can almost get two for the price of one iron guard.
If you still take Iron guard you need to make sure they are pretected, a perfect way to do this is put them behind a dwarf warrior shield wall untill you are in the thick of HTH fighting.
I love dwarf ballistas, keep them.
