Well I fancied trying something a bit different so got myself down to Firestorm games in Cardiff http://www.firestormgames.co.uk/index.php?route=common/home and picked up a Trollblood Battlegroup and got started! The models are brilliant and I was instantly hooked so with my usual lack of restraint, thought I'd try some Warmachine models and so picked up the Cygnar Battlegroup too! This as it turned out couldn't sate my appetite and determined to try gaming again after around ten years of just painting and modelling last week I ordered the two player starter set for Warmachine, and a couple of Cryx models that I just liked the look of from Firestorm, this is my journey from first steps to hopefully fully fledged armies to play with friends and my first battle! So follow me as I (Irregularly) chronicle this journey a few pics to get us started first up the collection minus the trollbloods and Lord Asphyxious:

I've started painting several models but I've made most progress with Madrak, with his flesh tone I wanted it to be lighter but not complete Albino the skin is near enough finished the rest of the model is very much WIP:

These shots were taken on my iPhone once the models are completed I will take some with my digital camera.

Let me know what you think and hope you'll enjoy viewing this thread as it progresses!

Woh! You're starting out with Menoth, Khador, Cygnar, Trolls and a little Cryx too?

I think you need more hordes factions

Haha Think I have enough to be getting on with for now! Menoth will probably take a back seat for now while I finish off the Trollblood and Khador models, will work on the Cygnar and Cryx as a break from all that red and Troll flesh!

Though I do like the look of those Everblight models....

I'm from the future. The future of space

Two player hordes starter has Everbight & Circle and is coming out later this year.

I like the high contrast of your paint job. The metallics look great as well.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.
