I don't know what it would be like there, but with the new ap values to CCWs, terminators get their ordinary armor saves against power swords.

What kinds of armies do you expect to be fighting against?

Welcome to Dakka,Guilldog, from a fellow army vet.
And welcome to chaos. You have chosen wisely.
I play a thousand sons army and it has done very well so far in 6th edition..
May I recommend the telekenisis powers. Most people don't like them, but with options like gate of infinity and vortex of doom, you end up with a powerful combination of spells. I personally run 2 termi sorcerer HQ's, a Defiler, obits, and the rest are all thousand sons squads. I often also take an aegis line with quad cannon in case any flyers decide to make an appearance.
Anyway, hope this helps.

I myself have been interested in starting a Thousand Sons army, but until the new dex I'm just sitting on my hands.

Just be careful that us Space Wolf players don't wolf your wolf. The best way to beat a Space Wolf player is to wolf his wolf before he wolfs your wolf because if he does then your wolf is wolfed. Wolf!

Oh, It is kind of an inside joke with how many times the word wolf appears within the Space Wolf codex. Anyways, it is good to see a Thousand Sons player, they're rare for how awesome their models are.

i like the models and i like that you can have a spell caste (psyker) as the leader of every squad, from what read tho you dont want to get locked in close combat with them, but thats why i want my army to be heavy on vics ( two predators, two landraiders) and i'll most def get some terminators and i already have my raptors, rhinos, and havocs, so hopefully will be enough long range support to weaken the enimies close combat units at a distance and then have the raptors and the terminators tie the rest of thier squads up in close combat while i have my thousand sons and sorcerers tear up thier tactical squads and use my own tactical squads to as scoring units to take the objective......

still new to the game but thats my plan

No i dont think they would be the last, but i know khorne would be first, think of all the bloodlettersthere must be.
the main issue with thousand sons tha i have is thier models are much more expensive than other chaos space marines, some of the older ones are going for 10 dollars or more for a single model, ive had all my luck on ebay honestly

yeah, not bad but still kinda up there if you plan on making a thousand sons army, for 4 squadsi s 160 dollars.... maybe its just expensive to me, i have a 1 year old so my warhammer budget isnt as free as some others. But i was mainly talking about the older metal models which are the ones you find most often unless your getting them straight from GW

ah actually me and my dad both play so we have are own armys but we both wanted to play chaos so we share the army when we got are thousand sons we split the cost so we got a terminator lord 30 1ksons and 30 terminators for only $220!

cool sweet deal,

My first army i got on a nice deal too, it was 500 dollars and i got about 1400 dollars worth of space marines, right now im currently trying to strip and sell them to fund my thousand sons army.... stripping models is a pain!!!

Is that all you run in your ksons? just a lord ksons and terminators?
Have you seen the storm of change spell for ahriman and his sorcerers?

I thought it looked pretty cool and if i ever played a big game i would use it, thats why i want so many socerers.

I'd suggest giving one sorcerer the telepathy base spell ( 3d6-enemy unit's leadership, the difference are casualties to his unit with no armor or cover saves).

Hope this helps and welcome to Dakar.
