Hi,

was wondering what the best websites with the best articles/books ect about Ultramarines?
I want to know everything (or at least a lot) about the history.

Also would one think I (a noob) should start by reading warhammer or can skip and go to 40k?
Which other than the Horus Herresy books are suggested?

Start by looking up Ultramarines on Lexicanum. Using the table pf contents link, skip down to the "Sources" section.

That was a far quicker response than I anticipated, thanks. And I will do

I greatly recommend the Codices of all editions (lots of overlap, but also lots of unique stuff) as well as Index Astartes I.

Good luck on your hunt!

I think the Ultramarines entry is in Index Astartes III, no?

Don't read anything by Graham McNeill, and you should be okay, lol.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

I'm reading most what's on the websites now, I will order the Astrartes soon. My local GW was nice enough to give me some SM/Ultramarine stuff. Also going there tonight to attend some games so I can learn.
