So I've just finished The Emperor's gift, which is pretty amazing, and I have a couple of questions.
Firstly I understand that the Emperor's Gift makes the Grey knights supercharged Chaos annihilating tempests, but is there anywhere else where they go into to detail about why exactly they are so powerful, especially against chaos.
Secondly are there books about the Space Wolves' part in the war, and if so what are they called and are they any good?
Thanks in Advance.

All Grey Knights are psykers, wield psychically charges weapons and wear heavily anointed armour. Combine that with their possibly unparalleled (within the Imperium) knowledge of daemons and how vulnerable Daemons are to psykers and it should help explain their abilities.
There's not really any other sources that elaborate upon the role of the Wolves. The Space Wolves Codex has a passage about it, but nothing that would really add to what you've read in The Emperors Gift IIRC.

"It is the great irony of the Legiones Astartes: engineered to kill to achieve a victory of peace that they can then be no part of."

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

There's a bit of fluff in "Chaos Attack!", the supplement for "Battle for Armageddon" which introduced the first war to the background (basically as a convenient way for the players to reuse the same map for a different scenario; it also happened that the Space Wolves had just got their 40k models and list for the first time), but that's otherwise it.
