Idea for the attack (in theory): StuGs go forward with StuH42s, StuHs use direct smoke or dig up infantry and man-packed weapons and at-guns. Tigers supporting from long range (as not effected of it thanks to Ottos rules) or run headlong into an enemy mob to confuse them. Rocket Launchers use smoke and/or pin enemy units preor assault. Infantry is used as basedefenders and/or flankers. I'd love to have 3 Pumas but sadly I just can't have them in this list
Idea for the defence (in theory): Infanty dug in and holding their ground in some woods or other suitable area-terrains. Rocket Launchers fire as muchs as they can, hoping not to be countered. As for StuGs, StuHs and Tigers, mobile reserve hidin behind area-terrains and/or in-line in some area-terrains to fire as early as possible if against Soviet tank horde. As for recce in defence, I think I'm not in a need of any.

A realy simple question. Why not divide up the MG/ Panzerfaust teams between the two Sturm Platoons?
Spread the wealth so to speak.

Would love to but can't. Not enough points if I don't drop something off as I have to upgrade both teams in a squad in a platoon and that takes 20 points.

I just looked at that. Sort of seems a tad odd of a rule, but that's that.
Other thans that, I like the list but for one thing. There is no AA. Now to be fair, my opponents list have air support in them, so that is something I always incorporate into my lists.

True there is none AA in the list but that's because in our games we normally don't have any airsupport... except in very rare cases. But you are right, the AA asset could work in dual-role peppering infantry and firing at air, a pair of 88's perhatps could be best?

I'm a bit biased. I love 88s, but you have the option of the 2cm Flak38. Don't remember if they can be porteed onto the transport options though.
The 88s would still provide good coverage, and have the dual role of AT guns. I would probably go with the other option, but it would depend on, again, if they can be porteed.

I checked the Flak38s and yes they can be porteed onto the transport.
And in that mode those could be better for me as I could drive them up to pepper the dugin infantry.
88s on the other hand... I have 7 StuGs/StuHs and 2 Tigers, those should be enough against tanks so no-go for 88s and go for the Flak38s.

But I could go with the second list, just to find what to take more? To upgrade nebs to NW42 or take more fausts for both platoons? Mainly those are the questions, as you guys know fausts in attack mode are useless and as this list is tank company list, we are doing attacking a lot.
And I'm not going to lose my indirect support for Otto, I think that is something foolish as Otto can hit dug in vets only with 4+ and the nebs hit with 3+ being vets. As I need to pindown those enemy inf platoons to assault it's easier done with nebs ( if my spotter can see the target).
So how sounds this list?

Do you think that the PzFaust HQ upgrade for both platoons is worth it? I run the 78th Sturm and only buy them with all the fixin's, so I'm not sure the value of a single faust in late war.
If the value is negligible, you can still run the 2nd list with Otto by dropping one of those command upgrades.
I've considered it in my 78th - having 1 platoon all upgraded and bristling with AT and the other has no fausts at all, enticing the enemy to head that direction.

Could do that. In that case the other platoon would be purely defensive and protecting my nebs and objective, and the other could be more effectively used in assault. Thanks mates  This list is starting to came together.

How about this? Other Sturm platoon changed into Begleit platoon (can be changed into tank escorts at the start of the game for free). No Anti-Air, no Otto or Albert. Same tactics as before.

Looks alright. Enemy air suppor tiwould be a bitch, but as you said you fellas play with no aircraft.
Seems pretty solid, but may run into problems with out recce as well. Especilly against troop heavy armies.
