Hey everyone,
We're excited to announce that at our Grand Opening Event weekend September 7, 8, 9, we will be not only having a couple of tournaments, painting competitions, but also are honored to have Game Designer Andy Chambers as our Guest of Honor. Below are the details. We hope to see you there!
We are having our
GRAND OPENING EVENT
On the weekend of Sept. 7, 8, 9
We are proud to announce our Grand Opening Guest of Honor:
Andy Chambers!
A Bit about Andy: Andy Chambers is a veteran writer for the Warhammer 40,000 universe with more than twenty years experience creating games dominated by giant robots, spaceships and dangerous aliens. He worked at Games Workshop as a games designer for three editions of the Warhammer 40,000 miniatures game, as well as titles like Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Necromunda, Space Marine, Titan Legions, Epic, Gorkamorka and Battlefleet Gothic.
More recently Andy moved into the PC gaming world to work on the hit real time strategy game Starcraft 2 by Blizzard Entertainment. Currently Andy is writing novels and short fiction for Games Workshop’s Black Library, has just published Flame War (a standalone card game of extreme moderation) with Fun to 11 and designed the Dust Warfare tabletop miniatures rules for Fantasy Flight Games. He has more games designed too, just ask him.
Please join us on Friday September 7th, 2012 starting at 4pm Andy will be available for Autographs, so bring in your Dust Warfare books, Path of the Renegade novels, etc for him to sign. We will also have plenty available here for you to purchase if you forget your copies!
Starting around 6:30pm Andy will be holding a session where he will talk about his new game (he will also be demoing it through the weekend!), the creation of Dust Warfare, Game Design, the 40k Universe according to Andy, and much, much more! The session will end with an open Q&A so bring any questions you have for him!
On Saturday Sept 8th, Andy will be joined with fellow Black Library Author:
MIKE LEE
Author of the recent book, Nagash Immortal, the Malus Darkblade series, Fallen Angels short story, and more!
This year’s inaugural Event will feature Multiple Events:
Saturday we have two tournaments (space is limited so register quickly!):
Flames of War Late War Tournament
Kings of War Tournament
Then to close out our celebration on Sunday September 9th we will be featuring:
DUST Warfare Epic Battle for Zverograd (featuring Andy Chambers).
We are also featuring The Jump Master’s Challenge painting competition
Three Categories to enter: Single Miniature, Unit, & Large Monster/Mech/Tank/Etc
Keep the Weekend FREE!
You will not want to miss these Events!
Special Guests, Tournaments, Limited Release Items, and MORE!
Updated (9/14/12)
Thanks to everyone who came out to our Grand Opening Event. Special thanks to Andy Chambers and Mike Lee for coming and making the event that much more special. Also thanks goes out to the 501st who came out (we had Lord Vadar and his Stormtrooper bodyguard grace our presence).
For those that didn't make it, here are pictures of our first Jump Master's Painting Challenge and the Grand Opening as well.
The game that Andy is demoing is his newest creation (coming soon!) called Blood Red Skies. A WW2 air combat game that gets rid of the pre-plot systems that most dog fight games fall back on, making for a fast, fun, immersive game.
Below is a video that was shot on our first day of Darth Vadar learning how to play the X-Wing Miniatures game.

The 40k Tournament is coming after the Grand Opening. That way we can use 20+ tables for that alone

We would suggest bringing copies of anything you would like signed by our guests, but we will also have copies on hand to purchase as well.

I think Andy would disagree with that

Visited Dropzone Games for the first time today. Completely blown away by the amount of product and its variety. Tons of gaming space and painting stations and scads of folks painting/playing. Friendly owner who's knowledgeable about gaming and looking to help folks get what they're after in minis war games.
Picked up the new KoW starter to build up my evil armies and got in a game of FoW while I was there. Drove an hour to get there and it's definitely worth it. Looking forward to hopefully getting to regularly game at DZ.
*DropZone Games is located in the Glen Burnie area of Maryland.
Here's the link (already listed by the OP above but can you ever have enough links?) : http://www.dropzone-games.com/events/the-event/

You might want to include some sort of general location information (country, state, city?) somewhere in your post so people don't have to hunt through your site to find out where the heck this store is.

Man, wish I'd made it out. Particularly for the storm trooper and Darth Vader even moreso than for Andy Chambers.
Is there a separate room in the back, or where was that Q&A held? I don't recognize the space...

Blood Red Skies looks pretty interesting. Is there any more information or is just a product Andy Chambers is developing himself?
