Beast of Nurgle

Hey everyone I am trying to expand the background of my DIY Renegade Space Marine Chapter, so far they are were a a space marine chapter based in the Segmentum Pacificius who were so obsessed with death they fell to the worship of Nurgle the true God of Death fleeing into the Halo Zone becoming dark necromancers who raise the dead to fight for them. Basically I am looking for some major background on the region and the Halo Zone I know their was some major crusade in the region what was it???. Could someone help with what are the main systems in it, what Xenos are in that area, what are some of the major battles fought, any space marine chapters in the area and are their any good sources of info on them
Cheers

In granting those who oppose me death I am giving them the mercy of Nurgle.
Releasing my enemies from the bonds of fear and oppression , from the shame of betrayal, I preform a kindness I erase contempt, regret, sorrow, insanity all the burdens of life, embrace death and be free or reject Nurgles gift and be destroyed.

Very little information is known. Lord Solar Macharius tried to carry his crusade into it, but his troops refused.

In the book Priests of Mars they travel to the edge of the galaxy and beyond, you could poke around in that for some ideas.

Know thy self. Everything follows this.

Pretty sure the Imperial commanders under the control of lord solar Macarius had a civil war, 80 something planets fell into civil war, so im sure there would be alot of corruption and dead guardsmen for you necromancing space marines

oh and by the way the planets were on the outskirts of the halo stars, hopefully that helps a bit

The actual, true god of Death... responsible for the image of the Grim Reaper and all that sort of thing... was the Nightbringer.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

And how did the nightbringers dabling in necromancy turn out for him?

What happened was that the halo stars were said to have ghosts inhabiting the planets orbiting them thats why they said that machiarus's men did not want to go through them..... Also the light of the astronomicon cannot pierce through the halo stars region... something about strange warp current there, not much else to know about it really as far as i know( source: IG codex)

The conflict there was simply a crusade to take the planets in the region...... not much fluff content there, the only remarkable thing about it was the sheer amount of land taken, i dont think chaos was involved so cant help you there, xenos in the area are orks obviosly, and perhaps tryranids, but none of the usual eldar tau or necron activity (that i know of) i think ultramarines have control over that part of space ( if glancing at my friends SM codex serves my memory correctly)

I swear I think those two have a hate-crush on each other sometimes.

Pacificus is to the opposite side of the galaxy. "West" of Terra.
