While the video is nice and all, the advertisments for 40knation.com are overwhelming.

It's plastered as a pic in the thread, then it's watermarked on the video, and then it's plastered in your signature.

I don't recall too many tutorials that had ads posted on top of them here. If you want to advertise your site, a signature is where to do it. I don't think that "in your face" advertising works well on gamers. If anything, we become spiteful of having to see the ad over and over just to see content we want, and as such we (usually) silently boycott whatever the ad is for.

I don't know your site, I'm not saying it's bad in any way. Just tone down the advertising.

"Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! ... It’s become the promotions department of a toy company." -- Rick Priestly

Hm.. I was going to post something nice but now i'm wondering how much (cashpositive) effect this thread is going to get.

Advertisements only work when people are willing to spend money (unless your german), replying with some stereotypical american overfed comment is not the best way to get people as far as to help something you're standing for. Anyway, hopefully i'll get a comment out of you as nice as the first one.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

The cloak stands out nicely. I'd also airbrush the base the save time.
