In the year M39.963 the Iron Knights chapter of the Adeptus Astartes would receive a distress call from the Hive World Oberon Primus. The enemy in question would be the dread Chaos forces of Maz'Khull, Chosen of Tzeetch. And so the Iron Knights sent their First Company into the fray. Day after day, week after week but the traitor forces were like a never ending tide of corruption. Victory was not to be theirs as they were heavily outnumbered by the Daemonic filth. On the third week of the conflict the Iron Knights Terminators had been reduced to less than half their original number and three of the original seven Stormtalon type gunships remained. Eventually the remaining soldiers were forced into defending the planet's last remaining Defense Laser when Maz'Khull appeared on the battlefield, He appeared behind their lines and obliterated Terminator squad Antellius. The Iron Knights were surely doomed, surrounded on all sides with absolutely no hope of survival when suddenly deliverance came in the form of three Stormraven Gunships soaring from the skies above with a payload of almost thirty Paladins from the Grey Knight's First Brotherhood. The Knights of both Chapters fought bac to back and slowly they turned the tables on the Chaotic tide as Captain Shaseral charged up and duelled with the Chaos Lord. The two duelled amongst the ruins for several hours before Shasarel's Thunder Hammer finally struck home. With their leader defeated the traitors turned tail and fled as the Space Marines recovered themselves from the long, seemingly endless battle. But not without a cost, the Iron Knights numbers had dwindled to a little over a quarter of what they had been at the start of the campaign. Numbers that could take years, maybe even centuries to recover. And although they had now won on Oberon Primus, there were now reports of similar Chaos attacks throughout the local sub-sector Oberon. They were the only force available in time to end the threat for the sub sector. And so both chapters replenished their numbers and began their crusade to cleanse Oberon sub-sector of the taint.
