I have been interested in EVE for ages, but have not been willing to sink the time I know I would spend playing another MMO.

Now Dust 514 is around and I am thinking of getting involved. Hopefully it will keep me involved for as long as it looks like it may.

A FPS MMO in the EVE universe would've done fantastic on the PC, they are shooting themselves in the foot by making it only on the PS3. In 2 or 3 years they'll have a PS4 and will have to reprogram the game all over again.

I am signed up for the Dust 514 beta. Looks interesting. And, who knows, it might end up on PC eventually.

Console only FPS? Is that what DUST 514 is? I saw it 'advertised' on the sign in screen when logging into EVE one night. I didn't realize it was another game. I just thought it was some more EVE content that I'd probably never make it to.

I like Eve. Its therapeutic... I park my frigate in an asteroid field and mine away while listening to podcasts and surfing the web. Skills practically train on their own as well. You can set it and forget it.

Then again I'm SUPER duper casual. The corp (guild) that I'm in has some more seasoned players and they talk about doing all kinds of things like going out in fleets to mine or fight. They link cool stuff like ship setups and stuff.

I'm kind of curious now about DUST 514... I wonder if it will have first person mining...

No in dust 514 you are the soldiers working for the corps

Also, keyboard+mouse support makes any shooter viable.

I play PC games as well, and there is no real reason to be elitist in that regard.

Now I need to read a LOT more about EVE and find a corp to help out.
