I am a US army player looking to expand my force. I wanted to add some more Shermans to my list, and my question is what is the difference between the M4A3 (Late) and M4A3 Sherman? Is it a large enough difference to warrant purchasing two separate kits?

The late war Sherman M4 A3 were often the M4A3 E8.This tank had a different suspension type than the early war variants.They were nick named the 'Easy Eight'.
The M4A3 A2 late war Sherman variant also had double thickness frontal armour, nicknamed the 'Jumbo'.

They are slightly differnt looking to early war Sherman M4A3 tanks.
But most people wouldnt expect you to buy more models if you used M4A3 in stead of M4 A3 E8s.
Well it wouldnt bother me or my gaming group anyway...

The M4A3(early) doesn't have the smooth front armor plate. It has bump-outs for the driver and bow machine-gunner. This gives it a Front amor of 6.



The M4A3(late) has the smooth front armor plate and a steeper angle. It has a front armor of 7; it also has the 'wet' ammo protection system, giving it the Protected Ammo rule.
