On a hate rampage.

Hakanor's Reavers are a group of Chaos Space Marines under the leadership of Hakanor, a Daemon Prince formerly known as the Chapter Master Prometian. The armour of these warriors burns with a magical heat, causing it to constantly crack and reform like lava.

Was sold by this sentence.

So yea, I've had my Chaos lying around for a good while now, meaning to get in to them a while back but still doing my Blood Angels. Always bugged me a bit, as Chaos armies have an epic feel to them. So with the release of Dark Vengeance (Which I highly recommend buying) I saw an opportunity to boot them up and choose a relatively unseen army. Hakanor's Reavers aren't seen enough, and look simply epic.

Sorry about pic quality here, camera was about to die, so I hurried it

I'm going to start basing them once I have a full squad or two done. I was think Blackened Earth and some kind of nuclear snow, to go with my Tau and my Friends Death Korps. I'll post my Juggernaut and Helbrute soon. Let me know what you think!

The cracks on the armour look great, looking forward to seeing more of these. I was very tempted to go for Reavers myself when I was debating over warbands and it's nice to see someone pulling off their somewhat difficult colour scheme. Particularly looking forward to seeing that hellbrute done up in these colours.

My only complaint is the whacking great mould line on that second guy's leg...

That set definitely has some sweet models. And that cracked lava armour looks great!

For the commissar and the stubber guy I would suggest maybe a wash over the skin and hair to bring out that detail a little better.
And for the coloured areas like the red mask and the yellow shoulder pads you could paint the whole area in a yellow or red base colour, and then highlight with a lighter red or yellow. That would make the colours look sharper as you wouldn't see the black undercoat. And if the final colour is too dark, or you want it to look a little grungy, give the whole area a wash of agrax earthshade.

Thanks for sharing =)

UPDATE
First time I've had an Update, so I'm excited. Got my Jugsy WIP photos, only 2, and he will probably be finished tonight

Still got a lot of brass and silver to paint. Any ideas what colour to paint the demon rider? Am thinking a classic red, but if anyone has any suggestions I'll give it a go

Could you recommend a wash? All I have is Devlan Mud and Asmuren Blue, not familiar with the new names

Thanks all for kind words

Another great mini. I do enjoy the texture of that monster's metal hid/flesh.
