Hello everyone!

I recently returned to State College, PA this semester for college and have yet to find a consistent group of people here who play 40k.

There's a store in Bellefont willing to support a community, but they do not currently have the resources to actually sell 40k minis. This is an open thread to anyone in the central PA area.

So, who's out there?

Snake Eyes Gaming runs events in that area. Snake Eyes Gaming is a Warhammer 40K focused club that runs many different types of events: Beginner's Event, Apocalypse Games, Doubles Tournaments, and of course the standard Tournament. We run events at handful of location and are currently working on getting into a few more stores.

Our next event is the 3rd annual Steel City Showdown on October 20th at Legions Games in Pittsburgh. I know Pittsburgh sounds far but you will meet other people from State College that you can travel with in the future.

Not interested in tournaments or driving to Pittsburgh? We will have a planetary empires campaign starting this winter at Gatehouse Games in Altoona. We have a few more events in the works for Gatehouse Games in the coming months. Friday is 40K night at Gatehouse, usually 1-4 of us are there on any given Friday evening (plus 5-10 other 40K players).

Central Pennsylvania has a great Warhammer 40K Community. Our events can generally pull between 30 and 50 players. Great atmosphere, everyone is pretty friendly and knowledgeable. Players are a little spread out but you'll find this is a great area for Warhammer 40K.

We're known outside of the area as the club that brings the giant display tables to Games Day.

I spoke with a couple of players in the State College area last week when they were playing in Altoona on a Friday night. They sounded like they'd be glad to meet you, one of them has a table at their house also. At least one of them is on Dakka so hopefully they'll see this, otherwise if you're interested PM me and I can probably get you an email address.
They'll be at the tournament in Pittsburgh on October 20th if you can make it.

Check out GAPS. I used to run miniatures games there before I graduated. They used to play in the HUB on Fridays and Saturdays.

After I graduated I heard they moved to West Halls Commons where they used to be located.

If you need stuff, Comic Swap will order things for you, although it'd be easier to order directly.

GAPS fell apart. I will have to check up with Deathwolf I suppose.

The SC area seems to be an illogical wasteland of gaming. With PSU, you'd think that one of the many hobby start ups would have made it. I'm out of the area now, unfortunately. I own a store in Lebanon that plays on Saturdays, if you're ever out this way. Was the store in Bellefonte Pure Imagination, by any chance?

Hey! I'm part of a gaming group in/around State College. We play all sorts of games with 40k/Fantasy & Flames of War being the big 3 I guess. You (and anyone else who is interested) can find or club forum here:
