I know most of you have already played the game (including me) but I thought I'd give it a spin again for funsies.
Chose primarch difficulty this time and doing well so far, only thing that saddens me is I now remember how crappy the ASM squad is compared to melee FC...

Anyone else enjoying this game again?

If there was still a decent multiplayer community I would probably be playing this game still. The only reason I play more DoW1 than DoW2 right now is because the skirmish AI is awful in DoW2 and won't actually engage in battles very often. I think it was last summer when the game had a free weekend on Steam and there was actually a decent community again. I played with a buddy of mine and we had a blast, at least until a couple weeks later and it was just us vs. people who pretty much never stopped playing from beta.

I play skirmish occasionally.

Retribution only though.

I always perfer DoW1 due to base building and spamming tons of units, but i have recently purchased and beaten chaos rising and retribution. The campaign for Chaos rising was enjoyable but the campaign for Retribution kinda left a bad taste in my mouth

The Retribution campaign was a "one size fits all" campaign for every race, and it just didn't satisfy for anyone really. It was a commendable experiment, even if it didn't turn out as well as I wish it did.

The campaigns in DOW 2 Retribution are kinda 'meh'. I would of prefered it if thet kept with the Blood Ravens only.
The multiplayer games are awesome though.

A question I have is many of the unit slots when you select the HQ to build stuff are still empty, does that mean there are more DOW games to come?

The narration absolutely ruled; the fact that it was the same linear campaign over and over with slight variations is what was a bummer about it. The Orks launching their WAAAGH! because Kaptin Bludflagg wanted the Inquisitor's hat though? Absolutely incredible.
