Sneaky Striking Scorpion

This was my first tournament experience. I came in Second, but was the only undefeated person in the Tournament (battle points grrr...) My first match was against the person who came in 4th, my second game was against the person who got 3rd, and final game was Versus the winner, so I had a hard schedule. Here is my experience as I can remember it. Pics for first game coming soon.

Modified Relic(4 objectives, 2 points each, in the middle of each table quarter, and a “relic” in the middle, Secondary objectives: one point for activating relic, one for line breaker, one for first blood, one for Warlord, total 12 battle points), Dawn of War, No warlord traits that affected anything.
Initial thoughts: Good Matchup…should be able to mess up the Termie squad good only 8 strong plus the Tau suit and Warlord…standard hit and run on their turn etc.
Turn 1 SM/Tau: moved Termie squad forward shot at Ravager with Broadsides destroying it.
Turn 1 Eldar/DE: Assaulted with Harlies killing 5 including Sarge in challenge with Archon losing only like 1 harlie or something ridiculous. Shot at SM tac squad of 5 including ML who failed morale and ran off board. Termies Hit and Run (!!! Did not realize this was going to happen) using the Tau commander to do so moving close to the Relic which was near a venom with wyches inside.
Turn 2 SM/Tau: Both Rhinos carrying the other half of Tac Squads come in which both have combi meltas on sarge and a melta special weapon. Blows up both Venoms, one out in the open and the other by the relic in CC with Thunder hammers. Wyches by relic run away from leadership and manage to get into cover.
Turn 2 Eldar/DE: 1 squad of Walkers come in on left and I put them in the face of the broadsides and attempt to dakka the 2+ armor save and kill one, failing to do so. 1 GJB squad comes in and hides. Attempt to charge the Termie squad with the Harlies and fail to do so even with fleet. Quad gun dakkas rhino in front for an easy glance to death with both rerolling hits, and to wound armor due to tank hunters, and giving no save due to crackshot. Wyches regroup and hide. Other wyches run off objective for cover
Turn 3 SM/Tau: Rhino goes over other rhino with squad hiding behind it. Blows up 2 Walkers with Broadsides and then charges the final one, locking them both in combat. Termies forget to move. Everything else shoots at harliestar doing maybe 1 wound or something from the side losing one harlie (down to like 7-8 incl shadowseer and archon and farseer now…you know…enough). Quad gun gets dakka’d by crisis suits I think or missles or something wrecks it I forget what.
Turn 3 Eldar/DE: We are informed that turn 4 will be last turn due to time. Other walker squad I choose to have come in on the right to take out that rocket tac squad. Other GJBs zoom up and take up a position behind Aegis. Fire Dragons move towards Relic in Difficult Terrain. Going to melta some Termies…but fail to do so. Harlies Charge the Termies this time. Then the harlies Hit and Run denying Termies the chance to so that I can move towards objective after killing 2 terminators and losing 1 harlie in return. Wyches attempt to blow up the remaining Rhino but fail their fleet charge. Walker loses combat to broadsides…sad day.
Turn 4 SM/Tau: Termies approach harlies and are going to try to slow them as crisis suits which I got too close to flamer me for 18 wounds!!! Archon shadow field goes down but only takes one wound after losing 1 harlie. Then assaults with termies killing a bunch of harlies after shooting leaving me with Farseer and 1 harlie who manage to pass leadership and hit and run away. Also finishes off the Wyches that are trying to get to the Rhino with the tac squad inside and shoots down the walkers (all but 1) on the right with melta and rockets. Broadsides shoot missles at forward GJB squad forcing a failed morale test who then run almost all the way back to my objective.
Turn 4 Eldar/DE: Final turn no powers cast at all just running to contest his 1 objective. Wyches try a difficult terrain test to get to my objective and only go 4 of the 14 inches so can’t make it anyway. GJBs regroup 3 inches right onto an objective. Harlie and farseer manage to contest objective…could have gotten linebreaker with them but throught my 1 remaining walker got it. Final GJB squad takes my second objective
Final score: 4-3 Eldar/DE win (Eldar/DE with 2 objectives for 4 points, SM/Tau have 1 objective, 1 objective contested by harlies, and first blood)
Final Thoughts: Whew…close game…one more turn would have been brutal for me, didn’t have the best luck but tough list for mine to face but managed to pull out the win, unfortunately due to the board set up and army comp, we were lowest scoring table by far other people were like 9-4 etc. (my opponent of this game ended up in 4th)
