Aaron Dembski-Bowden hinted in Void Walker that Sevatar didn't really die during the horus heresy and that if anyone could reunite the night lords into a unified legion it would be him, and considering Bowden just recently released a HH novella about him and possibly more novels in the future depicting his crusade towards the battle of terra, what are the chances that he'd make an appearance in the current WH40k universe? appearing out of the blue to lead the night lords again?

I'm a little iffy about him surviving. Remember that he was marked for death by the Primarch and was being kept around because Curze still had use for him. His death (or his fleeing) is what prompted Sahaal into the position of First Captain and the splintering of the Atramentar.

Spoiler:
Whatever secrets were known about him died on Tsagualsa with Mercutian.

Prince of Crows:
Spoiler:
When he helps Curze wake. Its said that he has undone decades of building defences. Then he ends up being captured by the Dark Angels... After being rather badass and suffing on a void fighter.
So I think he will either pop up at some point in 40k or die in way were noone sees him fall.
Spoiler:
Like killing/breaking the warp engine the Lion got in the Primarchs , while helping Curze escape the Lion's flagship.

Maybe he'd get trapped somewhere and the new prophet of the night lords gets the job of finding him again
