Hello, all.

I was wondering, before I leave my computer, what the best choice of allies are for a Salamanders Space Marine list with Vulkan or a mechanized Duke Sliscus List for the Dark Eldar.

Please tell me so I know what to get next.

Necrons: Overlord w/ warscythe, mss, ccb, 2x 5 Warriors w/ NS, and DS.

This is a fairly safe bet as for now, not many armies can handle fliers too well. Also the CCB is kinda sweet.

Just be sure to watch out for One Eye Open

For a variety of reasons, I wouldn't run a DE primary with any allies outside of Eldar. DE can be run as an ally to other primaries well though.

I'm not sure why you're getting so many votes for Necrons. Desperate Allies isn't good when you have plenty of other options, especially with all those flyers zooming around the board. I would go GK, as they add a lot of different units you could make work with your Salamanders, and are not DA like the Necrons.

I know it's not in your list, but have you considered IG? They make for amazing allies considering you can get so many things with each FOC slot. They compliment the slamanders forward element too by being able to sit back and score, or adding to AV saturation if that's your thing. Their artillery, tanks and fliers aren't too shabby either, especially when you can get a squad of 3 for the single FOC slot you get for allies.

Getting the votes for Crons because of the flyers they can bring to the table. More than any other Ally IIRC, barring a squadron.

Why you no Imperial Guard?

Okay, since I got so many votes for Necrons, SW, and GK, I'm redo-ing my poll.

I'm still trying to figure out what to have as Allies, though.

That first Necron post seems like a viable option until something better comes up.

Imperial Guard imho, because they give you something that you can't get from GK/SW lists: heavy artillery, cheap scoring units, tons of special weapons and powerful anti-armour flyers.
