Hello everyone, this is just an idea for a custom chapter I came up a couple days ago, and decided to expand on, and give a brief, quickly made background to. If you have any criticism or see any possible errors, feel free to say. I will be soon making several models for the chapter.

Name: Devil's Heads

Founding Chapter: Ultramarines (Suspected error).

Home world: Interminatis Alpha (Deleted from Imperial records).

Creation: Roughly M38, unconfirmed.

Chapter Master: Devil's heads Chapter Masters take on the title 'Vox Odii' or 'Voice of Hate'.

Specialties: Siege specialists, specialize in close range firefights and urban warfare.

Status: Unknown. Presumed destroyed.

Colour scheme:

Rise and fall:

They were believed to have been an offshoot created by the Ultramarines during the mid 38th millennium, although the Ultramarines deny all such claims made by the Devil's Heads as the chapters possess very few similarities and no records exist of the details of their creation.

During their early years, the Devil's Heads enjoyed great victories against various enemy forces, before long they had a great list of successes worthy of a longer-lived chapter. To the rest of the Imperium they appeared simply to be a surprisingly effective new chapter which had excelled beyond expectations. The truth however, was nothing so glorious. Over the years, and throughout various campaigns, the Devil's Heads had made frequent use of Xenos allies, such as Orks and Kroot, and even Renegades which were hired as mercenaries to aid the fledgling chapter in return for weaponry and technology. Being Space marines, and due to the fact they often acted without Imperial assistance, the chapter was able to keep the secret of their doings from the higher-ups of the Imperium.

This was all to change during a protracted siege against an enormous Fortress-complex located in the heart of a jungle Death world held by a Black Legion fragment. Due to the nature of the planet's terrain and wildlife, the chapter had hired large amounts of Orks to aid them in the conflict. The Devil's Heads were to supply the greenskins with large amounts of weapons and several vehicles to modify and make use of, while the marines themselves were to play support roles and bombard the foe from afar in order to sustain minimal casualties. After many weeks of hard fought fighting, the joint force managed to slay the chaos marines defending the fortress and crack into the Chaos Lord's secure heart of the place. Upon entering they found the Lord's retinue slaughtered to a man, the bodies of battle-hardened Chosen and twisted possessed littered the halls with little to no evidence as to the cause. Puzzled and highly suspicious, the force left the complex and the Devil's Heads and Ork armies soon went separate ways.

Several months later, hours after a routine putting down of a rebel faction on some Hive world, the Devil's Head army was surprised to see several Imperial guard dropships land on the outskirts of the Hive they were currently within. Unknown to the chapter, many months ago a small group of assassins had been dispatched to eliminate a troublesome chaos lord dwelling in a large fortress on a jungle planet. After easily infiltrating past the fortress' defenses, partially due to the distraction of the marines attacking it, the assassins then proceeded to kill every last chaos marine within before slipping back out undetected. Seeing the greenskins aiding the chapter, the assassins quickly departed from the planet before reporting their finding back to their superiors.

The following conflict between the guard forces deployed and the Devil's Heads was reported to have leveled almost the entire city, with the outnumbered marines desperately bombarding the guard-occupied parts with no care to avoid the innocent populace. In days the attacking guard had been slaughtered to a man, with countless civilians caught in the crossfire. By the time Imperial reinforcements had arrived, the Devil's heads had gone about mercilessly killing and capturing any innocents they could find as a symbol of revenge against those who had attacked them for simply trying to help the Imperium. The next wave sent to destroy the wayward chapter consisted of elements from the Space Wolves, Ultramarine and Raven Guard chapters, as well as many Imperial guard. The following battle was described as the Devil's Heads last stand, as the chapter was reported destroyed soon after it's conclusion despie the heavy casualties they had managed to inflict in their final days.

Seems nicely written. I have only two pieces of advice.

1) The left shoulder/elbow should be a color besides baby gak yellow.

2) Are they called the Death's Heads or the Devil's Heads?

There, I hope the shade is somewhat less...baby gak yellow.

And they are called the Devil's Heads, the Death's heads was the first name which I had accidentaly put in for the title.

I dunno, the left shoulder still kinda looks like gak. I would suggest making it either pure white, or blue.

I like the fluff, but I really don't like the color scheme.

I think death head would be a more appropriate name for a chapter with white skull-like helmets?

I chose the name 'Devil's Heads' because in the original design on dawn of war, they had a symbol very similar to he World Bearers Daemon head which couldn't be used on the Space marine painter I used.
