So, I propose a slight buff to FMCs to allow them to counter flyers.

Aerial Assault: Models with this special rule are allowed to assault Flyers and FMCs. Declare assaults and roll for charge distance as normal. In melee, against a Flyer, all attacks hit on rolls of 5+. Resolve hits against rear armor as normal. In addition, the FMC takes D3 Str5 hits at I1 as the flyer attempts to shake it. These hits cause a grounding test.

Against a FMC, resolve combat as normal. If either model is hit they must take a grounding test at the end of combat.

Regardless of the combats results, at the end of the assault phase move all models involved 2". These models are no longer locked in combat and the assault does not continue to the next turn.

So an aircraft flying at a huge speed into a squishy FMC will only cause a S5 hit? Should be S9, the same as a Grounding Test.

More like the FMC is crashing into the aircraft.

Also it should be against armour facing being assaulted, not just rear armour it is flying at speed.
