This is Zen, the TO and promoter for TSHFT tournament series.

Due to my many business affiliations, the best way to reach me is either through the TSHFT Open facebook page provided by Dan above.

Here is a quick glimpse of what the January event offers, details can be found on tshftopen.com provided above.

I am kind of new to the event scene and is wondering if this one is a good one to start... I heard plenty good things from my friends who went to the event and now moved away from Seattle. How is this one different from the one shot event in November and March?

Thanks for your interests.

Well, this one is different from the November/March Championship events in the following manners: (TSHFT Open will be in red)

- 2 day tournament
- Either 40K or WFB (40K only for now)
- only accommodate up to 54 players

- 3 day tournaments
- 2 40K tournaments (team and individual) & 1 WFB tournament.
- up to 120 players for the 40K main tournament and 60 for the WFB tournament.

In case you are wondering, no painting required.

Cheers,

I thought about editing that part out.. (as well as my Asian brothers talking about food been the MOST important thing in the tournament...) but decided against that because these are genuine moments make TSHFT what it is.

Thanks for answering the question, but I still have a few more.

1. Is it possible to do both the Team 40K and the Individual 40K event? It seems like the dates would suggest so I just want to make sure.

2. I have a few buddies of mine who are thinking of going down to it from Vancouver, BC. Is there a good place to stay or should they stay at the event site?

3. Can you elaborate the Team event a bit? I am still confused.

Here are some quick answers:

1) Yes to your answers and here is a time line:

Team 40K
Friday 1600~2300
Saturday 2000~2300

Indi 40K or WFB
Saturday 0800~1900
Sunday 0800~1630

It is going to be quite a challenge for a person to compete in both tournaments that's why whoever accomplish both will get the Iron Man award..

2) Well, they can stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton which starts around $129.00 or they can take advantage of the special event package for out of towners. The following is a package that accommodate 2 nights stay in a double queen room with free entry for 2 individuals to both the team and individual event of 40K. for only $420!

Battle Buddies Package

But move fast, I started out with 20 of this last week, and only have 13 left now.

3) I realized the Team event deserve its own explanation after reading some of the Q&A on Facebook, I will do a special post on my Blog and link to this in a day or two and hopefully that will solve your issues.

Cheers,

kk.

The battle buddies package seems like a steal to us. It's like saving $150 for both of us since we are both playing in the team and indi events. More for booze!

@zen13: Hey, I have a couple of questions. Might be dumb, but oh well, I don' t know the answers...

What does TSHFT stand for?

What's the current headcount for the WFB tournament? Are you expecting to fill out the entire 60 spots?

I played in the Seattle Slaughter 2 years ago and I really enjoyed it so I'm looking forward to getting back to playing again. Thanks and let me know when you can.

A smaller venue TSHFT championship is tentatively planned for May 18 in Bothell, assuming he gets enough people interested. FB Event page

There's an invitational in June for the various best generals of the last year.

THere's another 3 day open style event that is in the works in Portland sometime in October.
