Hey everyone!

I have a question about a tactic im quite comfortable and good at. And that, is the art of the Gun-line.

Following the rules to hit, and the stackable +1 to hit modifiers.....if you have an army of veterans (so 4+ to hit), you are at long range (so now 5+), you are concealed (then 6+) and you go to ground (7+. The magic number), thus making you impossible to hit, could you form a gun-line?

This is going off that you get the 7+ to hit (and the right army make up), could you make a gun-line? The only way they could force you out is to get rid of the long-range bonus so they would need to get inside 16". At that point, most all of the units in your army should be able to shoot at them with good effect. And they still would need a 6+ to hit you. Add in bullet-proof cover and it adds to it. Is this a feasible tactic? What army should I use for it, and what type of list/where would I get it?

You are right, but artillery will always hit on a 6+ and air (if you are in the open) will range in and hit on their own roll. Also recon can lift GtG which can also hurt.

Finally if you are bunched, artillery will hurt, and too stretch then assaults will. in many missions even as defender you have to move.

Also to avoid a bucket load of hits from MG's/breakthrough guns (roll enough dice get enough 6's) then you have to return fire meaning you start to die.

But yes a good start is not shooting!

Best lists for it IMHO are para lists (of any nationality)
