Torture Victim in the Bowels of the Rock

Hey guys. I have had this WIP going on another forum for awile now, but upon request from a friend of mine decided to update here as well.

The focus of the WIP is Dark Angels, Eldar, and High Elves, however there is sure to be random stuff along the way as well. As it stands right now I am working on my Dark Angels in preparation for the upcoming codex (crossed fingers that all rumors pointing to it are true), so no Eldar or High Elves for awile. The Deathwing have been the main focus of the group right now, but I will also post some work that I have done on other parts of the army as well. So onto the models;

First up is Belial with his unit of Deathwing Terminators;

Next are a few of the other finished Deathwing.

AT the moment I am working on 2 SB/PF models, CF/SB, and another Serg w/PW/SB

To acompany the Deathwing into battle I have their main support. This is the Deathwing Dreadnaught/Drop Pod(still to be finished), Predator, and Ravenwing.

So, there is a tast of what I have been working on and what will be worked on moving forward. Hope you guys like it. Comments and Constructive Critisisim are always welcome!

Enjoy

Beautifully painted army. One constructive criticism though is I think the bases on the terminators could do with a little more detail. They just don't match up to the obvious effort you've put into the models themselves. You've really got the bone white down nicely, and I'll be interested to see the finished drop pod and dread!

Great Work!!

Your Drop pod is most impressive!
I love the way the color pooled in the recesses!
And your colors are very sharp!

HAve you tried your hand at custom basing?

Your painting skills would be complimented by nice bases!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the responses. I have gotten a lot of feedback on the bases. I have tried my hand at some basing but not a lot. I have spent a lot of time working on my painting technique, and not so much on basing. The reason I went somewhat simple is that I am making a custom game table. The table will match the look of the bases I used. I will be going back and adding some deatails to the existing bases like rocks and taller weeds.

As far as what I have been up to, well quite a bit. I have now finished a total of 17 terminators. I have the Belial w/TH/SS, another Belial model with SB/Sword (pictured below), and 15 Terminators. I have taken it upon myself to do a few individual shots, army shot, and group shots of the units that I will field when I play games.

Belial w/Sword. This model I converted when the current DA codex came out. I know the paint job is not as crisp and clean as the other models. This is partly because my skills then were lacking, and I did not want to pull the model apart and strip it for repaint. So I just painted over the it and touched up.

This are the recent guys that I finished

The drop pod is the next thing to be done!!!

Enjoy!

As others have said, the models look great but the golf course bases kind of bring the whole model down a notch. I would suggest adding some more variety with rocks, gravel/sand, tufts of grass etc. to bring the bases up to the same level as the models.

Your painting looks very clean and smooth though. Nice work.
