Hey guys, I am pretty new to Warmahordes and I had a quick question. I have the Cygnar starter set and I was wondering if there are any close range shooting units in the Cygnar arsenal. I don't like the idea of running a static long range rifle line, I don't have problems with some long range support but I was wanting to know if you guys know of any good jacks or infantry in Cygnar that fill this roll. I am not opposed to using mercs in this role either so they are also on the table.

that long range rifle line has a 14" range outside of snipe casters. there are plenty ways to mitigate the effectiveness of it, and even running to engage can get past it in a turn.

"long range" in this game is a misnomer. regardless, most ranged units in this game are 10", cygnaran or otherwise. seems fit the bill mate.

Long range in warmachine is 15-20" away and that's really rare (about one thing per faction). Most things will have a range between 10-14" with a few a bit lower.

As for good and close shooting in Cygnar, stormblades, Gun mages, Cyclone and I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Do you want to be able to shoot things that have engaged your front lines? Do you want mobile shooting platforms who can also assault?

It sounds to me from reading your first post is that you want to be able to shoot, but not be tied down and have some mobility. Gun mages, B-13, hunters and defenders are all good shooting elements that are not required to be static. Stormwall is of course fully loaded to deal pain at range. Stormstrider is nice. Rangers and trencher commandos might be a more mobile force if you are into that. Minuteman is a fun hunter/killer type of jack. Shoot, just about everything in Cygnar has a gun of some sort.

If you want to check our mercs then the Nyss hunters are popular with alot of people.

Battlecollege is OK, too. But I find some of their tacticsa and thoughts lacking sometimes.
