I am looking to spend more time on various Hobby projects and less time just surfing the net, however having something on in the background is a real necessity. To this end i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good audio podcasts that cover general nerd-interest topics. I.e. Sci-fi/fantasy in general and not just films/tabletop gaming or videogames.
I would prefer it if they focused on discussion rather than firing through news stories, though a combination would be marvelous. Also they woud have to be downloadable (i.e. through Itunes etc), as having to rely on streaming is sometimes bothersome.

If you can't think of any general podcasts but know of a great focused one feel free to recommend. I am posting this thread here because i believe you guys are a discerning bunch so don't bite my head off with any 'lemme google that for ya' or similar bloody cheek. [braces for impact].

I would recommend either the Independent Characters or Deepstrike Radio out of the 40k/wargaming related podcasts I have listened to.
