Troubled By Non-Compliant Worlds

Heyhey, first post in this part of dakka,
I recently started playing Malifaux (last week) & picked up my first crew (Nicodem) and have played a couple of games (awesome fun!!) where my friend was kind enough to let me proxie GW Zombies as Mindless Zombies, I've been looking around for other Zombies that would fit in with the Malifaux scale with little luck, I'm not overly keen on the Mindless zombie models (being only the 3 sculpts) so I'm really wanting to find any decent alternatives
Thanks!
T-M

Games Workshop zombies might work, but honestly, you're not going to need many, the most I've ever gotten with Nicodem have been 8, and that was at the end of the battle, and I only had 1 crow to cheat to get Reanimator off... But I would suggest the following:
http://www.wargamesfactory.com/webstore/dark-futures/zombie-horde
20 bucks USD for 30 clothed zombies of varied poses. Their clothing is also decent enough that they don't stick out as fantasy or sci-fi, they're more "modern" which you can get away with in Malifaux.
Though you will need to buy the appropriate bases.

Those 28mm WGF Zombies are a bit too small and arguably won't work too well with Malifaux's "Heroic" 32mm scale.
If you want Zombies, you may actually do well with other Malifaux miniatures such as Rotten Belles, Drowned, or other Malifaux minis you may one day consider running as part of your crew.
Personally, I'm not a Resurrectionist player, so I can't tell you if these units are must-haves for gameplay-purposes, but you may want to just pick up a set or two.

You can also take a glance at Privateer Press's stuff. It's somehow more cartoony than Malifaux, but the scale is basically the same.

Here are some zombies that are victorian and therefore a good fit for Malifaux: http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=204_222&products_id=1620
From Westwinds Empire of the Dead game. And hey. You even get the appropriate bases.
And the GW zombies are so stupid looking they shouldn't be used for any game ever.

Do the sensible thing and pick up some of the other malifaux Zombie Types - even if you only use them as Mindless Zombies - it at least gives yo9u the option of having other stuff in your crew......
Dead Doxies, Guild Autopsies, the Drowned or even Rotten Belles - any of those would work and plus you get the cards tom play them as their real versions

How do you expect me to know what it is if you haven't painted it! Unpainted models are just proxies for the real thing |

I agree that the scale would be a little off, but not by too much. Scale in models are usually determined by the eyes, so it's 28mm to the eyes of the model. Malifaux uses a 32 mm, meaning the tops of the zombies' heads should be right about near the eye level of the Malifaux models. And considering how thin, and "small" the new plastics are (they're significantly less "bulky") they should fit in with very little trouble. I wouldn't make it a huge deal if they were a little smaller. I know I was using sorrows as mindless zombie proxies simply because I was trying to get used to my Nicodem crew.
I would definitely stick within Malifaux if you can, as the proxy rule is pretty strict (as are other company's rules), but I wouldn't go for anything else really... I mean yeah what I linked was slightly out of scale, but Mantic and GW zombies are too fantasy based, and have that feel to them, same with the non-Malifaux undead Absolutionis linked to.
Idk the scale on those undead that Hindenburg linked, but they seem like they're 28mm too...

I didn't find any info about the scale but I would assume they are 28mm, yes.

Then they're going to have the same issue that I had with the zombies I linked, they're going to be shorter that your average malifaux model :-/
Though their clothing is much more suitable to the theme of Malifaux than mine.

30mm heroic doesn't seem the most common scale around.

Malifaux isn't 30mm heroic, they're 32mm like PP stuff. So you either have true 28mm like infinity which seems spindly when compared tot he 28mm heroic that is GW. When Absolutionis said "heroic" he was referring to the general bulkiness of Malifaux models in comparison to other plastic zombies, etc...

Here's a comparison shot from left to right:
Malifaux Joss (32mm Heroic)
Wargames Factory Zombie (28mm)
Malifaux Ronin (32mm Heroic)
Infinity Deva Functionnaire (28mm)
The zombie seems really out-of-place, but that's just my opinion. Note that the 28mm Infinity figure is supposed to be very bulky and muscular for its scale.

Man those are small for 28mm.... I think Ophelia is taller I don't think Joss should be allowed into a scale contest, as for the Ronin, she's extremely proportional, and is only slightly taller than the infinity fig. I was just throwing ideas out there... I use empty bases for my mindless zombies because I don't play Nicodem enough to warrant buying tons of extra figs that are just gonna be used to summon flesh contructs .

Yeah, I run Ramos often, and I used to use empty bases for his spiders. I eventually just bought two more packs of spiders after realizing they fortunately look good even with multiples of the same "sculpt".
Also, pardon the paintjobs and awkward bases in that image. These are from my WIP workbench. I just grabbed the closest things I could find.

I second the drowned and rotten belles purchase. As a Resser player I can tell you that you that in addition to the ability to use them as MZ's, both of those models are ones that you can get a lot of mileage out of for their SS.

Oops. My bad. Malifaux models seem better proportioned than Privateers models, I think. Of course it varies across the ranges.
And funny thing about the Infinity scale, they have officially changed their scale from 28mm to "29,95mm" so yeah, a bit taller than 28mm, generally.

Wow thanks for all the replies very helpful!
Ill pick up few packs of the other zombie types to add on as either MZ or as part of my crew, my LGS seems relaxed enough and at least they'll fit in
Cheers!!
