I have made 2 different posts that somehow offended and got locked. How can I delete them to make amends for my transgressions?
The first was to advertise some neat gothic die cast vehicles I found that I thought were rather unique and would look good cluttering a city fight board after being battle damaged. This angered several and was locked. The second was to display my huge fully painted dark elf army. I had uploaded pics to my blog so posted a link to the blog. Apparently the rules require me to upload here directly and it is not allowed to link to a blog or photo-bucket image location. Both times the thread was locked.

Is it possible to delete posts?

I think suitable vehicles are a must in any ruined city, and why should this be an offense?

I am not going to re-upload all those pics again, so I guess my army will not be on display this time. In the future I will remember the procedure.

But, long story short I need to delete the offending posts and be more aware of posting rules.

Looking over the locked threads it seems like the main "offense" was just the section where they were posted.

The vehicle thread was a nice find, but it doesn't qualify as "news & rumors". Threads in that section are pretty much for new releases, new companies, rumors of new stuff that is just coming out or should be coming out soon. The vehicles were a good find, but they are not a "new release". If the thread was posted in Dakka discussion it might have stayed open.

Same with the Dark Elves. The Painting & Modeling showcase is usually reserved for one model or diorama, finished and based ready for review. Posting a link to your blog doesn't really meet that requirement. Another option for that would be to post in the general painting thread or to start up a thread in the P&M blog section. Another good place for the thread might be the WFB General Discussion thread. You don't have to host the pictures on Dakka either. If they are already up on your blog then it is pretty easy to just hotlink to the pictures and have them show here without having to go through the work of uploading them here. One of the reasons many of us host our pictures on Dakka is that it makes it easy to find them (if they are tagged correctly) and it also makes sure that more people can see them. Stuff hosted on blogs or photobucket (and other sites) can often be blocked at work and then we just see boxes with red x's.

There is not really a rule against linking to your blog, but many people will just think that you don't really care about sharing and are just trying to increase traffic to your blog if you don't post much more than a link. Not saying that is what you did, but that is something to take into consideration. Even hotlinking a few pictures into the first post of a thread with a "and if you like these, there are more on my blog" makes a better impression than no pictures at all.

Hang in there.

Yeah, you'll be fine dude, just learn from your mistakes and post better

D-Usa is right though, hosting on dakka allows EVERYONE see the pictures because most work block filters block by url. An image hosted here on Dakka has a dakka url, and if we can't get to dakka due to work block filters, then we can't see the images anyways .

Note: You can simply take the img link from your blog and there is an upload by url function that you can use which is easier than browsing your computer for the img files.
