I just moved to Galveston my self but I haven't found a store to play at in Galveston its self. In Houston there is Asgard games which is pretty much the closest you'll get but its mostly warmachine. You could check out their forums to schedule a game with someone or send me a message.
I don't live there myself, but I have a good friend that lives nearby. He plays at Gerard's One Stop Gaming Shop in Webster. Google Maps has it listed in Houston, but is still the same address. Google maps has it at 34 minutes (31 miles) from 27th Street and TX-87.
They have 2 or 3 wargaming tables with terrain and 3 times that in card tables for card games and board games. Decent selection of board games, GW stuff, and CCGs (mainly magic the Gathering). I think Thursday nights are their WH40k nights.
