Combat Jumping Garuda
|
I posted this on CB's Infinity forum, but figured I'd share here for those that don't browse there much.
Twas the night before Paradiso, when all through the base
Not a creature was stirring, not even a Daktaris.
The software was fire walled by the proxy with care,
In hopes that Morat soon wouldn't be there.
The Chimeras were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of red district danced in their heads.
And Zero in her camo, and I in my defense,
Had just settled our brains for battle, strictly so tense.
When out on the comms there arose such a chatter,
I sprang from my cover to see what was the matter.
Away to the bulkhead I flew in a dash,
Tore open the door and threw in a flash.
The fluorescent on the breast of the fresh polished floor
Gave the lustre of mid-day to targets acquired below.
When, what to my x-visor should be appearing,
But a full sized Raicho, and eight Preta leaping.
With a frenzied driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Spec Op Treitak.
More rapid than Khawarijs his coursers they came,
And he bellowed, and shouted, and called as he maimed!
"Now kill them! now, kill them! now, kill them and split them!
On, Sogarats! On, Suryats! oh, and avoid the Blitzen!
To the top of the HQ! to the top of the wall!
Now fire away! fire away! Fire away all!"
As dry leaves that before the Rasyat did fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, descend from the sky.
So to the catwalks, the diplomats they flew,
With the Preta all slaying, and Spec Op Treitak too.
And then, in a stomping, I heard on the roof
The charging and clawing of each little hoof.
As I drew my pistol, and was turning around,
Down the stairs Spec Op Treitak came with a bound.
He had hair that hung from his head to his foot,
And his armors were all tarnished with blood and soot.
A bundle of guns he had strapped to his back,
And he looked like a murderer, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they glared! His scowl how scary!
His arms sized like trees, his pose was unwary
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin hung down so low.
The flame thrower he held tight in his grip,
And the smoke it filled the room, up to my hip.
He had a broad face and even broader shoulders,
That did not shake, like he was carved from boulders!
He was fit and muscular, certainly not an elf,
And I froze when I saw him, and peed myself!
A glint from his Combi and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had everything to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And D-charged all the terminals, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger on a device, he appeared to decode,
And giving a small glance, the entire wall, it did explode!
He sprang to his Raicho, to his team gave a nod,
And away they all flew like the downing of an Aleph’s Netrod.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he piloted out of sight,
"Our mission is complete, next time you should use PanO Knights!"
