Just to elaborate on the title, why do chaos space marines have some of the new armour patterns? I'm not talking about the the freshly rebelled ones, but the legions. Do they produce it themselves? Do they loot it? Just wondering if anyone knew . (Also, i don't have access to the new codex, so it could be in there)

Renegades from previously loyalist Chapters defecting to Chaos. Join up with the Legions or form their own factions. Hence Mk 7 and Mk 8 armor designs popping up in Chaos forces.

They also loot things ( Armor, Vehicles, Geneseed, Weaponry etc) from Loyalist Scum quite frequently.
