Redcap’s Corner will be hosting a huge Warmachine/Hordes Steamroller Tournament.
When: Saturday, March 16th 2013. Doors open at 10am, First Round at 11am
Where: Redcap’s Corner is located at 3617 Lancaster Ave., Philadelphia, PA
Why: Because it’s Adam’s 32nd birthday. Conveniently, it will also be the month after Redcap’s 4th anniversary.
Prizes:
-1st-3rd coins
-1st place: Any colossal/gargantuan. (If it isn’t out yet we will have one waiting for you on its release)
-Painting: Every round that you play with a fully painted force you will get a painting raffle ticket. At the end of the event our two judges will pick a best painted
army and that person will receive extra painting raffle tickets equal to half the number of rounds, rounded up. We will then pull a random ticket and that person
will win a Colossal/Gargantuan.
For every four players in the event beyond 8 we will add another colossal/gargantuan to the prize pool. As an example, if we have 16 players, we will award a
colossal to 1st-3rd place and 1 for painting. If we have 32 we will have: 1st 2x colossal/gargantuan!, 2nd-6th: 1 colossal/gargantuan each and 1 for painting.
We will also have a 32pt army raffle*, a surprise door prize and will have pizza and cake for everyone who plays.
*Raffle tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20
Entry: $32 (because Adam is turning 32!)
The event will have a max attendance of 32 players (to keep with the 32nd birthday theme!) so make sure to preregister quickly.
We will be taking preregistration for the event in store and via paypal using warhorn at
http://warhorn.net/redcaps-birthday-bash/.
We will use the SR2013 rules.
- Army Lists: 50 points. You may bring two lists, but only one is required. Players cannot include the same version of a model or unit with FA:C in more than one list.
The original and epic incarnation(s) of a character do not count as the same version of a model.
- Number of Rounds: 4-5, depending on turn out.
- Round/Turn lengths: We will be using the Deathclock variant (60 minutes, includes deployment).
- Scoring: We will use the Control Point variant for final standings: If there is no clear winner at the end of a tournament, use the Control Points tiebreaker followed by
Army Points Destroyed and then Strength of Schedule.
- Painting: not required, but recommended...
