The land is barren, dead, and cold. The air is filled with noxious gasses that present a constant noxious fog and prevent all but the most extreme forms of life to exist. All over the planet, war is constant and looks similar to the blasted terrain of WWI front, because rebels and other renegade groups fight desperately to capture the underground vaults that contain the only systems to recycle the toxic air. Among this constant planet-wide battle of survival, the Stoics, an emotionless race of slightly modified humanoids, are the largest group in control of the vaults. Most famously known for their single spiked helmets (which have been said to be used when ammo is low), tactical use of rocket artillery suppression and then flanking the enemies positions with entire platoons equipped with demo charges; the Stoics view death as simply returning to the sense-absent state they were, before they were born.

I've been inspired to pick up IG as allies to my space pups and eventually as its own entire separate army. I was really inspired from the alternative models used by SkaerKrow here on Dakka (props), but I wanted to blend WW1 with WW2 aesthetics and use IG bitz. Most are currently headless as I'm painting the heads separately and I have to flock the bases with rocks as well. So without further delay...

Here's a picture of what each model will generally look like (armless for now but will use IG lasguns)

Nebel rocket squad proxied as mortar teams

Command Squad with Lord Cuttle (proxie for al'rahem)

I'll post some more soon, there's much more to come...

Here's the next update of what I've been working on!

My Sly Marbo conversion still in the theme of my army. His left arm will have tattered sleeves revealing his muscle arm and I'm going to add a gun shot blast at the end of his pistol as well

Commissar and a couple command squad guardsmen (marbo deploying anywhere and photobombing as usual)

An infantry squad in process

Anyone have any good ideas for conversion I could do with a sentinel pilot? I have one and I don't know what to use it for....

I should have my vendetta done soon too...

They look very cool, I tried to make a squad of the Wargames Factory models, but I got really frustrated with them, I hated their necks. You've done a really good job with them.
How did you make the pickelhaube if you don't mind my asking? I'm thinking about making a new IG army and I kind of want to have an Imperial German feel to them.

Thank you so much, I will using those for my veterans/storm troopers! I was afraid I would be using the new Distopian Legions Prussian troops, but I think they're a little too big. Those heads would be perfect. Thanks again.

If you're going to do a heavy weapons team with scenery I may suggest using balsa wood cut into planks as floorboards for buildings and duckboards for trenches. I just had some sitting around and made this Cadian missile launcher team and the boards fixed the problem of not having anything underneath.

That's a great idea! I was looking to do the half torso heavy weapon team bunkers, because: 1 Looks great! and 2 I'd just have to buy torso - cheaper. Any chance you could post some extra pictures of them here?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Alright soooooo, For aesthetic purposes I've switched to the stock greatcoats helmets (see pictures). I'll probably only use the spiked ones for stormtroopers. also I've yet to work on my vendetta...

Probably next week I'm going to work on converting a Nork Deddog and two regimental advisers (i'll post pics below of them)

So here is my HQ Command Squad (no Nork or advisers) I had a bunkch of green stuff leftover so i made straps on their guns it was shweet and I know that it's not in the codex anymore, but I made his have a master-vox by adding the extra antenna with a skull on it!

Here's another squad I'm working on that will be part of a non-Al'rehem unit

Here's Admiral Cuttlef - I know I showed him already, but here's a better pic. He's my proxie for Al'rehem so a platoon flanks the enemy and his name is based of a cuttlefish which camouflages and then hypnotizes their prey (as seen below) My question is, How should I paint him (after you view the model and then the INSANE cuttlefish ability below???)

Lol IT'S A TRAP!

My Master of the Fleet will be converted from this model:

And my Astropath will be converted from this model:

I'll get a whole army shot soon also still no ideas on what to do with an extra sentinel pilot model....
