Who wins (or is more powerful) in 1 vs 1? Vect (no vehicle) or Sanguinor?

Hypothetically (math-hammer)?

Experiment-wise? How many times (fights)?

I encourage everyone to answer, but it would be nice if someone who has played or played against any of the two to share some information, for both are awesome HQ's in my opinion.

Fluff-wise, Sanguinor. Gameplay wise, in 5th Vect would have steamrolled Sanguinor but as he can't ignore 2+ saves in 6th it'll be a lot closer. That said, Sanguinor doesn't deal instant death and Vect has better I, A, W and I think WS too. That one would go with the dice.

I'll try.

Shooting: Vect shoots with his l'il blast, odds are it'll hit (BS8). .5 Wounds, of which 0.0833333 repeating unsaved wounds get through. Sanguinor doesn't have shooting, I think?

So, CC. Both charge, Vect strikes first with 7 attacks rerolling 1s to Hit and Wound (oh that's gonna suck to calculate). 5.8333 repeating hits, wounding on 3s all the time, so 4.9 Wounds, rounding up. That's 0.81 unsaved Wound, rounding off, so there's a good chance Sanguinor takes a Wound on that one.

In return, the angel gets 6 attacks back with reroll to hit and Wound thanks to his rule - 4.5 hits, 2s to Wound is 3.75 Wounds before rerolls, making it 4.375 Wounds. Vect takes 0.73 Wounds rounding up.

So Vect has the advantage, but if he fails the 2+ Invuln then he is pretty much screwed because it becomes a 6++ instead. The difference in mathhammer isn't really that great and bad luck will make or break the fight, so it depends on the dice but I would say the Sanguinor.

By the way whenever vect takes a wound is it always instant death or can he take a wound only?

I'd give this one to the Sanguinor. Due to his Jump Pack, he's much more likely to get the charge (which also means Vect would only get 6 attacks).

Vect is also only hitting on 4's as both characters are WS 8.

Most importantly, The Sanguinor is strength 6 on the charge. With his 6 attacks, he's dealing 4-5 wounds. If Vect rolls a 1 on that first turn, he's insta-gibbed. He's incredible in combat, but Toughness 3 really hurts.

Ah right, my calculations were wrong. In that case, definitely Sanguinor. I'd forgotten about Furious Charge.

In answer to OP's question, when he takes a wound his 2++ becomes a 6++.

If both Characters are WS 8 how do you get 4-5 wounds out of 6 attacks? 3 hits 2-3 wounds, unless he has something allowing him to re-roll missed attacks.

If Sanguinor does not charge, then with S5 on his glaive encarmine, wouldn't vect have the edge though since Sanguinor can't land any ID blows without his charge?
