So the google thread got me thinking. What information about you is out there that you don't control? With stalker friendly websites like Spokeo your name, address and even phone number are just a couple button clicks away. I have my facebook locked down to the point that it doesn't show up in searches, and I biannually google myself and clean out the stalker websites of my personal information. So all that shows up if you google me is my meetup.com profile (Oh noes! The bad guys know I like beer, anime and scifi!). A couple articles I wrote for an online gaming website... and that's it. Everything else is links to a guy who shares my name who happens to be a bassist in a folk rock band. (I'm disappointed in my doppelganger, come on dude! Rhythm guitar at least!)

What about you guys? Any info out there you need to police up?

I universally use a fake b-day on everything, use paypal as a payment intermediary, and post absolutely zero identifying info. I'm kinda paranoid about this sort of stuff. Also, there's a guy with the same name as me that runs the computer sciences faculty of a US technical college, so he seems to take up thye vast majority of all google searches.

True...

I have so many alias, it's not even funny.

The only thing that's real is my online Banking... and I use tough passwords and stuff. Only reason I can do this is that my bank provides identity protection for free.

I really don't care. Life isn't a James Bond movie. My name is on so many obscure forums, websites, mailing lists, P2P, torrents, porn, and everything else. It's too late, and I'm not paranoid enough to care.
