I have always loved wraithguard but getting them into range of their guns can be an issue, but if karandras is taken with them you can drop a squad of 10 plus warlock with conceal and karandras right on top of your opponents army

That's an issue people have been arguing over for a long time, whether or not karandras can infiltrate units other than scorpions, personally I believe the way the rules are written that he should be able to but I don't use it nor have I come across anyone that does so it's been a bit of a non-issue for me.

Also "right on top of" is a bit of an overstatement when you're talking about 18" away from them. Personally I think if you're going to do a wraithguard deathstar build then the double farseer is better for it to get fortune + invisibility or precognition (I think it's called that, the one that gives 4++)

By right on top of it I meant the range of their guns given a movement phase

Yes so if the entire squad is lined up in a line 18" away from another squad also lined up in a straight line and you can get a full 6" then you can fire with the whole squad first turn.

Not trying to be rude but when you consider that in a lot of games you start 24" away from your opponent the extra 6" hardly qualifies as "right on top of" in my opinion

Sorry can't disclose.....infiltrating

This is quite impossible due to the faq, stating exarch/phoenix lord powers only affect warriors of their aspect

Also, you have to deploy more than 18" away, meaning that when you move 6" you must be more than 12" away.

You're not going to be able to shoot unless your opponent goes first and closes with you.

Whilst this is true the argument in favour doesn't require the power to be passed to the squad so it doesn't matter that they aren't aspect warriors.

The argument is that Karandras himself has infiltrate, and since only one model needs infiltrate for the whole unit to do so, his joining with a unit allows them to infiltrate off of his ability to do so. The question is does karandras have the infiltrate ability or does he simply confer it upon scorpions he joins thereby allowing himself to infiltrate because they have the special rule.

What it boils down to is - would you let karandras infiltrate as a single model unit? If yes then he can join another unit and confer the ability to infiltrate upon them, if no then only with scorpions could he infiltrate.
