What's the best way to paint Space Wolves in light grey/blue-grey that not going to bankrupt me and is quick?

I have some rough ideas:

Armour: Russ Grey basecoat, Agrax Earthshade Wash, Russ Grey highlight
Furs:
Yellow Shoulder Pads:Averland Sunset basecoat, Seraphim Sepia wash
Red Shoulder Pads: Mephiston Red basecoat, Agrax Earthshade wash
Metal: Leadbelcher basecoat, Nuln Oil wash (possible Leadbelcher highlight?)
Eyes: Abaddon Black, Basecoat, Khorne Red overcoat
Gold: Balthasar Gold basecoat, Agrax Earthshade wash (possible Ironbreaker highlight)
Skin: ?
Hair: ?
Leather: Abaddon Black coat, Dawnstone highlight
Power Weapons: (As metal but with Asurmen Blue wash)

Any tips?

best tip I can give you in my opinion is this: assemble all you need to paint and then buy a can of The Army PAinter wolf grey primer! that way you undercoat and base coat all your mini's in one hit saving you hours of time and money! then go back and wash them with whichever shade you want and pick your other colours out and you should have a decent force in next to no time :-)

There's quite a bit of material on that website. There's a armor tutorials as well, which might help you in your dilemma (tho I think it's original GW names, not the newly released set. Google for the conversion table).

Good luck, hope this helps.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

I actually prefer the darker looking Space Wolves myself. GW just showed a SW army I really like in "what's new today".

The Army Painter approach seems to be the way forward. Should one only use Basecoat paints for painting metal/shoulders/eyes etc.? Also is the Strong shade best?
