I just recently had an idea for a blog I might want to try out if enough people think it's a funny/good idea: Blot-chompa's Bits and Gubbins Orkpedia (rough translation: "My Big Mek's Pieces and Part Ork-i-fied Encyclopedia.")
The premise would be rather simple: take some large bit, or a collection of various smaller ones, and describe how they could be used in ork-i-fyign and converting models. I am no great model converter (yet) and so this would not only help me spark my creative juices as possibly the creative juices in other converters, new and old. It could be used a sort of discussion for Orky "logic" and just kind of a fun thing to do.
The pieces would be written from an Ork Mek's perspective with the Cockney accent written into the blog sparingly; I want it to evoke orky images, not be illegible. Perhaps the larger, more complex words could be spelled "hi-
fo-net-i-cally" as, while not smart, some Orks
know things, like...ya know... words. I would also include several images, one unaltered image to show the bit in it's pure form. I could then photoshop the bit over existing models, or crudely drawn pictures. (A stick-ork with a left arm replaced by a Heavy Bolter. Hey, it's a Cybork'd Big Shoota.) Probably end up with some absent-minded scribblings along the sides.
For example:
Some gits may say that dis 'ere's a set of wings for a Freek's Dakka jet! BAH! Obviously dis is a set of zoggin' 'uge klaws, I'd say for some squig-brained boss's Stompa!
Of course I would go into more detail that that and, as stated previously, have pictures. But ya know, work in progress, throwing stuff at the wall, seeing what sticks, blah blah blah. Tell me what you guys think!
