Afternoon, been thinking about doing a Wolf Guard Terminator army and was just wondering what everyones' thoughts were on whether or not they actually work?

Thanks.

There not bad, i play a 1/2 and 1/2 army. RUN some plan Wolf Guard modles so you have wound guys.
Also put most of your CML Terminator in Long Fang Packs and use split fire and marksman to kill anyone important in the enemy army like all the plasma guns or powerfists

all ur base are belong to da

all the armies i used to beat b4 6ed

What's best for transport? Drop Pods? Land Raiders or just walking?

All depends on what you aim for.

Since I'm on the scratch-build side of the vehicles, spamming Raiders allows me to pull high point "for fun" lists with few models.

As my old SW mate has proven WG termies are pretty nasty unless the enemy is really pouring on the AP2. Having to pitch thirty SoB + Jacobus at four WG + a Rune Priest in TDA just to keep an objective? I lost 17 sisters and Jacobus (though Jacobus was my fault for not remembering the RP can't have a +2S staff). And that was with some abysmal rolling from my opponent, and the only drawback of TDA saving a defeated squad (termies can't Sweeping Advance).

As long as your going for termies with bolters and power weapons you'll be good, you cant take many TH/SS equipped models as its 23 points more expensive that other marine armies but you could take 1 per 5 wolfguard place it at the front and use it to take the AP2 hits for the others.

for fun i did an army with 25 wolfguard, 12 long fangs using missile launchers and 2 razorbacks and they did fine, i would however next time swap long fang missiles for plasma cannons to add more AP2 to the army as the cyclone launchers give you plenty of ranged anti tank.

Sticking single storm shield models out front to soak plasma wounds isn't going to work too well in 6e, since people will just make you take the saves from small arms first.

The downside to mass WG terminators is the same as any other terminator army, model count, exacerbated by a lack of efficient terminator setups due to their wargear setups. A Loganwing works best if you have a large number of power armour models in there to keep your body count up.
