Making a 300 point list for an upcoming tourney. Please respond with what you think about the army, is there anything missing?, anything that shouldn't be there?...

WARBAND 1 : Balin + Durin's axe - 85 Points

4 Dwarf rangers w/ bows (one has a throwing axe) - 43 Points

WARBAND 2 : King's Champ w/ Heralds - 125 Points

4 Dwarf warriors w/ shields - 36 Points

1 Dwarf warrior w/ two handed axe - 9 Points

Total 298 Points


My tactic will be either stay back and camp while shooting at them and leaving my combat dudes back or go up and use my shield dudes as a blockade so my heroes can get up and cause havoc

Hi this might be a bit late but some constructive criticism anyway. In a 300 pt game you shouldn't spend so many points on heroes, and particularly with the kings champion you need more boots on the ground before they start to really affect the game. So I would swap out the kings champion for a captain with shield. You should spend the 60 points you save on more dwarf warriors with sheilds or khazad guard. What size boards will you be playing on? Are you playing the scenarios from the army books? IMO dwarf rangers are not worth the point I would rather have the extra point of bow strength and defence from a 9 point dwarf warrior with bow, also 4 archers will do very little so I would consider dropping them for more dwarves with shields. Another thing you could do with the 60 points would be to add in a ballista, these are great at taking out heroes and if you are doing scenarios you almost always get victory points for killing the enemy leader.
So here a possible list

Warband 1 163 pts
Balin
durins axe
5 dwarf warriors
shields
3 khazad guard
Warband 2 137 pts
Dwarf captain
shield

8 dwarf warriors
shields

This works out at exactly 300 points, hope this was helpful.

Thanks i quite like your list i'll give it a try, a bit before the tourney I changed my list to:

Warband 1 : Balin + durins axe - 85 Points
8 dwarf warriors with shields - 72 points
2 dwarf warriors with 2 handed axes - 18 points
Warband 2 : Kings Champ - 125 points
total : 300 points

I did ok i demolished a foot uruk-hai army, just beat an elf army and got pwnded by hunter orcs and Bolg.

That's not bad.

Next time you may want to increase the amount of men on the ground. For example - 125 points on one single hero is quite a lot. A Dwarf Captain may have served you better. You'd also need archers. It may not have hurt the Elves or Uruks that much, but the Hunter Orcs would have been whittled down mighty quickly.
